In particular, if you need to configure your Gmail account, including those of Google Apps domain accounts, it’s extremely simple with Airmail. I was quite impressed with how easy I could do that. The first thing you need to do when you begin to try out Airmail is to configure your mail accounts. It’s become quite feature rich, but the interface and design continues to exude simplicity and sleekness. Airmail is a Mac-only email client that is designed to be fast and lightweight. If you didn’t know about Sparrow, that’s alright, because Sparrow is gone, and now there’s Airmail anyway. Of course, Airmail’s development is unrelated to that of Sparrow, but they do share design simplicity and sleekness that leads you to think of one when talking about the other. If you know about Sparrow, which Google acquired in July 2012 and has since discontinued further development, Airmail seems deceptively like Sparrow reborn. Airmail isn’t perfect, but it has the best mix of features that work for me.

However it isn’t keeping up with my needs.

As you might have read, I’ve moved away from Apple’s Mail.app which is included in Mac OS X. This time around, I want to go into Airmail with a little bit more depth. I posted about a bunch of mails apps previously (). Emails aren’t going to go away any time soon, but at least, you could try to make working with emails less of a drag. If email is frustrating or a chore to you, well, one way to lessen the pain is to have a great email app. But I couldn't bring myself to give it a 4 or 5 total star rating due to the lack of support and apparent lack of knowledge of the staff. For many people, emails have become one of the most significant activities they do on their computers.

The mail client itself, even with being a bit buggy, would have got 4 stars as it fulfills all my email needs. And when I've emailed them directly with a question that is so simple and concise my 7yr old daughter understood it, I get a reply answering a completely different question! So it's one star for customer service. I've lost count of the number of questions that go back years and left unanswered. Simple proof is to look at the help sections on their website. My biggest gripe is that customer service is abysmal. A small thing I know, but not to be expected when you're paying a subscription for it. For example, it will sometimes hang when changing from one folder to another. I do love this mail client, but it's still a bit buggy in places.
